Eny Chen

Music is a part of everything, even if you aren’t an avid music-listener or musician. It comes from sound waves and the physics of everything in the world. As someone who has been involved in music since I was old enough to remember, I have learned to appreciate the music in my life— I've played the piano for nearly ten years, learned the violin, created deep friendships within my high school chamber orchestra, and spent a large amount of time constructing playlists. Music is a form of art, and part of what makes us human is the desire to create art and express freely. Professionally, I've participated in several musical competitions, festivals, pit orchestras, and charities. I believe in sharing music with others simply for the enjoyment of it, even for skeptics! Music makes everything so much more interesting and opens up new opportunities.

Outside of music, I enjoy reading, athletics, traveling, and cooking. I enjoy studying liberal arts when I'm not occupied by high school. Although I mainly perform classical music, my favorite genres are jazz and alternative rock. Potential music interests include learning the cello, electric guitar, and dabbling in band groups.
