About Melanie

I discovered my love for music at a young age, leading me to enroll in Dr. Qian Yin’s piano lessons when I was 9. From there, my love for the instrument blossomed. Through her teaching, I’ve achieved many great feats while also advancing my skills and being in eye-opening experiences, such as performing in foreign countries and receiving masterclasses from world-class pianists. My music journey has been both challenging and rewarding, but even so, I am grateful for learning a skill that is deeply connected to my identity, as it has matured me into the person I am today. Now, I not only want to continue pursuing music, but I want to share the beauty of it with others.

Music is a gift to humanity that can be harnessed to help our community, and ultimately, sway society. So, I started Melody for Change with my fellow musicians to harness this. We share the same belief, being very enthusiastic about helping others, whether it be by organizing charity concerts or raising money to support hospitals and communities. Other than Melody for Change, I have had the delight of performing at nursing homes and organizing a charity concert.

My aspiration is to not only change the lives of those who receive our help, but to change the way people view music. I hope people become inspired to continue using music as medium for philanthropy.
